1st Online-Workshop on The Typology of German Phracons WG1 “Definition and Typology”

Aims: The main goal is to develop a general classification of German PhraCons. in line with the name of WG1 'Definition and Typology'.

Since the selected PhraCons in the first Workshop are in German, this first workshop will involve only members with sufficient proficiency in German. In a later phase, we aim to organize a follow-up meeting (2nd Online-Workshop) focusing on their English equivalents.

During the first workshop, we will present and discuss the proposed classifications and, if applicable, any new criteria suggested by WG1 members. The aim is to assess the relevance of the proposed criteria—developed by Anna Pavlova, Carmen Mellado, and Roberta Rada—and to work collaboratively on an empirically grounded classification of PhraCons in German.

o   15:00–15:30 — Presentation of the PhraCon typology (Pavlova/Mellado/Rada)

o   15:30–16:00 — Joint discussion with WG1 members on the presented typology

o   16:00–17:00 — Discussion on the typology of PhraCons 1–20

o   17:00–17:30 — Break

o   17:30–19:00 — Discussion on the typology of PhraCons 20–45

o   19:00–19:30 — Collaborative development of an empirically grounded classification of the PhraCons
