Young Researchers and Innovators (YRI) Conference Grants

Are you a young researcher or innovator under the age of 40? If so, you may be eligible for a YRI Conference Grant offered by COST Action Phraconrep (CA22115).

These grants are designed to support the participation of young researchers and innovators in high-level international conferences not organized by the COST Action, fostering professional growth, visibility, and collaboration opportunities within the research community.

Eligibility

  • Open to young researchers and innovators under 40 years of age.
  • Applicants must be affiliated with institutions in COST Full/Cooperating Member Countries, Near Neighbor Countries (NNCs), or European Research and Technology Development (RTD) organizations.
  • An accepted oral or poster presentation relevant to the scope of the Action is required.

  • Strengthen professional networks
  • Increase visibility in the research community
  • Support knowledge exchange through international conference participation

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted via the e-COST System (https://e-services.cost.eu/). If you do not have an e-COST account, you can create one through the system. Please note: The YRI conference should end before October 2025. If you would like to attend a conference in October 2025, please contact the Grant Awarding Coordinator first.

Required Documents

  • YRI Conference Grant application form (template available on e-COST), including:
    • A description of the relevance of the conference to the Action
    • A motivation statement outlining potential impact on your career
    • Curriculum Vitae (including list of academic publications)
    • Brief description of involvement in COST Action Phraconrep
    • Letter of acceptance from the conference organizers
    • Copy of the abstract or poster submitted to the conference
    • Estimated budget listing expected expenses
  • Note: In case of joint presentations, only one presenter may be awarded the grant.

Post-Conference Reporting

  • A report to the Action Management Committee detailing presentation outcomes, including increased visibility and new contacts for potential collaboration
  • Certificate of attendance
  • Conference program or book of abstracts/proceedings indicating the grantee’s presentation
  • A copy of the presented oral or poster contribution
