Progress Report at 24 months

By the end of the second year of the project, the Action has grown to 242 members. The Management
Committee (MC) includes representatives from 20 COST member countries, 17 of which are ITCs,
highlighting the crucial role of Inclusiveness Target Countries in this Action. Dedicated to the study of semiformulaic
patterns in idiomatic language (PhraCons), the Action brings together linguists from a broad
range of disciplines, including translation studies, typology, descriptive linguistics, data mining,
lexicography, and others. It fosters the exchange of knowledge between Eastern and Western European
research traditions and encourages collaboration across generations. Our mission is to provide valuable
resources for language researchers and practitioners, including teachers, learners, and translators.
In the first year, we launched a dedicated project website, which has recently undergone a major update:
https://www.phraconrep.com. Since the redesign, the website has been visited more than 6,000 times,
demonstrating its importance for the visibility of the Action. In the second year, we also expanded our digital
presence by creating a LinkedIn account: https://www.linkedin.com/company/phraconrep-costaction-
22115.
To date, the Action has organized five major events:

5. WG-Meeting “Arbeit im Repositorium” [‘Work in the Repository’], 3–4 July 2025, Trnava (Slovakia)
Action members have also been very productive with respect to publications, only some of which could be
indicated in the midterm report for various reasons (e.g., single-authored papers, which are very common in
our field, cannot be included into the template).
Looking ahead, our Action will intensify networking with foreign language teachers, particularly those
teaching English and German, while also engaging instructors of other Target Languages covered by the
Action.
